Marlon “Marvelous” Manalo leads nine (9) other Filipinos in the 2010 Guinness World Series 9-Ball Championships on July 28 to August 1 in Jakarta, Indonesia. “Baka dito sa Guinness sa Jakarta ay matumbok na natin ang titulo,” said Manalo, who shared his blessings yesterday with fellow Barangay Malamig residents by giving a feeding program and medical mission.
Marlon Manalo needed to go through the qualification tournament set for July 24 that includes Lee Vann Corteza, Dennis Orcollo, Antonio Lining, Roberto Gomez, Carlo Biado, Ricky Zerna, and Jundel Mazon.
“Naging panata na natin makatulong sa mga ka-Barangay Malamig natin kahit sa munting pamamaraan,” added the Jose Rizal University (JRU) AB Economics graduate Manalo, an outstanding athlete of Mandaluyong City, backed up by its mayor Benhur Abalos and Solar Sports. The former Asian Snooker Champion lost to compatriot and eventual 9-Ball Champion Francisco “Django” Bustamante during their quarter-final round matches at the just-ended World Pool Championships in Doha, Qatar.
