The Socal Ladies 9-Ball Tour held their second event of the season over the weekend of September 1819 at Hard Times Billiards in Bellflower, California. A field of twenty six ladies came out looking for their share of the $1600 in prize money. The biggest surprise on Saturday was the elimination of last event’s winner Tina Pawloski. Pawloski lost to Stacy Novack and was then eliminated by Vicki Wade late on Saturday.
Novack earned $610 for first. while Morris settled for $400 in second place prize money.
After the win over Pawloski, Novack cruised into the hot-seat match, but saw her tournament hopes temporarily derailed by Melissa Morris. Morris sent Novack to the left side of the board with a convincing 7-3 scoreline. Novack bounced back from that loss and defeated Jenny Lee 7-4 to earn another shot at Morris in the extended final set.
The finals saw two days of play combined with the shimmed pockets at Hard Times get the better of both players as they struggled to get anything going. In the end, it was Novack who got the better of Morris 9.5 to earn her first Social Ladies 9-Ball Tour Win.
